Although the word federal describes the theological viewpoint of this site, it is not to be confused with the Federal Vision or the "New Perspectives" on Paul.  The editor of this site is not a proponent of either of these views.  What will be put forward on this site is the more classical view of covenant theology, as it was formerly known as federal theology, which comes from the Latin fœdus.  Hence, the finest work on this subject is by Dutch author, Herman Witsius and was originally titled, De Œconomia Fœderum Dei cum Hominibus, which we know today as the The Economy of the Covenants between God and Man.
